Qualifications

Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts, University of Otago (admitted to practise in New Zealand (2004) and England and Wales (2009))

I am a partner in the Private Client and Trust team.  My practice focuses on advising clients with their commercial and property transactions, succession planning and structuring their affairs.  I also regularly advise on trusts.  My clients are based both locally and throughout New Zealand. Most recently, I have acted on some of the firm's most significant rural transactions.

Before I joined the firm in July 2011, I was a Senior Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. My work at Freshfields focused on international finance and corporate restructuring during the time prior to the GFC and the years that followed.   I started my career as a solicitor at Buddle Findlay in the Auckland finance department.  I have extensive experience in the banking sector, including secondments to the legal departments of ANZ and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

I’m a trustee of The Tauranga Art Gallery Trust. I have a real interest in the arts and enjoy being involved in the governance of this Trust.

I grew up in Tauranga and returned after 15 years away studying, working and travelling.  Outside of work I enjoy running, skiing and the outdoors.  I live in Mount Maunganui with Stewart and our two young children.
