Dispute Resolution & Local Government
As a child, I spent the majority of my free weekends and school holidays on Great Barrier Island which sparked an interest in the environment. I completed my BSc majoring in Environmental Science in 2007 and spent the next 10 years working in resource management and local government planning and policy teams, firstly in Auckland before moving to the Bay of Plenty in 2012. During this time I had a very satisfying career, specialising in high profile and complex planning and policy issues involving council hearings and Environment Court related processes.
Following the birth of my daughter in 2016, I decided it was an ideal time to change direction. I pursued a long-held ambition and embarked on legal studies. I finished my LLB Hons in July 2021, and am currently finishing the last piece of the puzzle – my professional studies are due to be completed in December 2021.
Having worked with the Resource Management team at CLM in my previous planning life, I knew this group of very talented people would be a great fit for me as I get stuck into my legal career.
In my spare time I love hanging out with my husband and daughter, travelling and snowboarding – ideally all at the same time!
