We have an intermediate role available that is a mix of resource management, local government and local authority related advice and litigation.
We are a mid-sized law firm in Tauranga delivering quality and pragmatic solutions to a wide range of corporate, local authority and private clients both locally and nationally. We provide challenging and rewarding work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
We would be keen to hear from you if you have the following mix of skills and experience:
- In-depth knowledge of resource management and related legislation and case law;
- Understanding of local authority issues including consenting, policy and liability matters;
- Excellent research and opinion writing skills;
- Familiar with Environment Court documents, practice and procedure;
- Advocacy experience (at Council level and in the Environment Court) preferred;
- Pragmatic problem solver and logical thinker;
- An understanding of the importance of client relationships and a strength for networking with clients and potential referrers
- Able to demonstrate a strong client service philosophy – able to build relationships with clients, partners and co-workers
- Excellent academic record
- Excellent attention to detail
- Pragmatic and solutions focussed approach to provision of advice
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Willingness to assist less experienced staff members
- Ideally at least 5-7 years PQE with NZ experience
